Tshirt Design - American Vegan, 2013

Shortly after launching in June 2013, Independence Day was upon us and I wanted a design that played on both the holiday and the idea that I get from some (mostly conservative) people that veganism is somehow un-American or communist/socialist or something definitely odd and antithetical to the way of doing things. So I designed this shirt for wearing to backyard barbecues and grilling occasions (yes, you can grill lots of plants), putting forward that veganism and patriotism are not mutually exclusive.

A tee design for Vegan For The Win's Independence Day promotion, and also to represent Vegan-American pride.

I really wanted to make something with type that was strong, mixed optimism with the past, and had obvious flag-related cues. This was a challenge.

Regular American Vegan. To get maximum logo size on the shirt front, I had to move the logo and tuck it between the “n”s.
